Scott Blair hammering his way to the WorldSkills Competition

Scott BlairScott Blair, Algonquin College carpentry apprentice graduate, is on his way to the 40th WorldSkills Competition in Calgary, Alberta in September.  From a young age, Scott knew he wanted a “hands on” job. His passion for carpentry was quickly discovered, as was his amazing talent.  Since high school Scott has competed in various skills competitions where he has been awarded many medals for his work, including:

Gold at the Ontario Technological Skills Competition 2005 and 2008

Silver at the Canadian Skills Competition 2005 (Secondary Level)

Bronze at the Canadian Skills Competition 2008

Scott was at the Ottawa Home and Garden Show March 26-29 preparing for the WorldSkills competition.  While there, Scott attracted alot of attention while building the gazebo pictured left. Scott's gazebo was later auctioned off for $3,000, with proceeds going to Habitat for Humanity.

Scott can next be seen competing this September at the WorldSkills Competition against some of the best in the world.
