Student Services - Academic Success

Peer Tutoring
The Student Tutoring Service is designed to help registered students who are experiencing difficulties in their program. Students are matched with trained students for one-to-one tutoring.

Students can receive tutoring for the nominal fee of $5 per hour in the subject area required. To receive tutoring please contact the Front Office.

If you are interested in becoming a tutor please see the Font Office to discuss the position. Peer tutors are paid $11 per hour and gain experience that will later help in their chosen field.

Student Support Lab
Need Help with your English or Math Skills?
The Student Support Lab helps students develop the fundamentals of writing, research and math skills in a comfortable environment that encourages educational efforts. Hours are posted on the hall information screens at the campus.

Monday to Friday, 8 AM to 4 PM, Room 102.

Testing Co-ordinator
There are several types of testing administered at the Perth Campus through the Testing Department.  These include:

• All pre-admission testing for Algonquin College Perth Campus programs
• Pre-admission testing for other colleges in Ontario and beyond
• Invigilation for Continuing Education courses, taken off Campus, through other colleges and universities (scheduled on a month-to-month basis)

Testing Fees
All pre-admission testing, within Algonquin College campuses, is $40 per session
Pre-admission testing done in Perth for other Post-Secondary Institutions is $75 per session.
