James File joined Algonquin College in May 2006. He brings 25 years of international experience gained from a wide range of development, strategic leadership and management roles in the technology and telecommunications industries with Bell-Northern Research and Nortel Networks.

As Associate Registrar, James manages systems applications and reporting processes in the Registrar’s Office. His mandate includes responsibility for system related policies and procedures governing scheduling, fees, audit, curriculum and reporting functions in the Registrar’s Office.

This role is the primary management liaison contact with Information Technology Services and also provides leadership in the development of GeneSIS, the corporate student information system.

James holds a B.Sc. (Honours) in Computing Science from Queen’s University and began his career as a software engineer with I.P. Sharp Associates.
