Originally from Nova Scotia, Kent is the Vice President, Academic at Algonquin College and is responsible for providing academic and organizational leadership for over 750 full—time faculty and staff who deliver and support over 140 full-time programs to Algonquin students.   Within the Academic Area, courses and programs are delivered through 10 diverse academic schools which are located on three campuses in Eastern Ontario. 

Leadership and Responsibilities:   Prior to being appointed Vice President, Academic, Kent held a variety of leadership positions in the public and private sectors.   In postsecondary education, positions have included:

Research and Interest:  Areas of research and interest include effective teaching and leadership in postsecondary environments, postsecondary and corporate strategy, the future of higher education (post secondary), system dynamics and innovation.
