The Curriculum Review Process provides the academic area with the opportunity to update Programs of Study and Program Narrative Information for the upcoming academic year. Specifically, the goals of the process include assurance that curriculum is relevant, current and accurate, in effect, addressing industry needs as well as allowing students to make informed decisions. The Curriculum Administrator works closely with the academic area, the Registrar’s Office and the Marketing Group to ensure that updated curriculum is accurately reflected in GeneSIS. Debrief/Orientation meetings are scheduled in the fall with academic departmental chairs, coordinators and support staff in order to discuss challenges and successes of the previous review and to communicate highlights for the current review. Additionally, supporting documentation included on this site is intended to assist the academic area with the functionality of the process, as well as provide an elaborate account of the process.
The curriculum administrator approves on GeneSIS all new and revised courses (funded and non-funded courses), assigns appropriate funding category as per MTCU enrolment guidelines, determines if the GST is applicable and ensures that the proper grading system is entered.
The curriculum administrator provides answers and solutions related to curriculum, policies/procedures and GeneSIS issues, to the academic area. GeneSIS training on curriculum delivery and relevant student management screens is provided to the academic and support staff.
