Focus for Change
Program Overview
FOR WOMEN ONLY
Focus for Change is designed for women who want to acquire the employability skills necessary for entry to the work force or to continue with further training.
students apply to the program by attending an information session and completing a selection interview
this certificate program runs for 16 weeks every fall at the Woodroffe campus of Algonquin College
classes are scheduled for 24 hours per week Monday to Friday
in-class instruction includes life skills and career planning, introduction to computers and a review of communication skills and mathematics
a two week work experience in a field researched by the student is also a important part of this certificate
graduates may find jobs, continue in academic upgrading or skills courses
graduates may start on-the-job- training , set up apprenticeships or become self-employed

Tuition: $849.76
Students may attend on a fee-paying basis or with the permission under Employment Insurance guidelines.  Student may be funded by the Ontario Special Bursary Program or be sponsored by other agencies.
