Who attends the program? |
| |
Our students include men and women from Ontario Works, some are Employment Insurance recipients, some are receiving Workers' Compensation or some form of insurance coverage, and some have transferred from the Alternative School program. Some learners need a great deal of time and help while others are just refreshing a particular skill. You can work toward a grade 12 equivalent diploma which qualifies you to enter post secondary training and is acceptable to employers, or you can simply improve your reading and writing skills. |
 |
When can I start? |
| |
Our program is continuous intake. That means that you can join any Monday throughout the year. You can be a full time day learner (24 hours a week) or a part time day or evening learner. If you are working, we try to schedule your school time around your job time. |
 |
What can I expect? |
| |
The first thing you can expect is to be referred to our educational assessor who will talk over with you your past school and work experiences, do some placement testing and explain the various programs available to you. If you choose to join us at 18 William Street West , you will come in and register with Jennifer and get a start date. |
 |
What does it cost? |
| |
Most students are fully subsidized by the Province of Ontario Some qualify for a small travel subsidy. All books and instructional materials are provided by us, you just need to bring a pencil and some paper. |
