Our annual Global Projects are open to current students, recent alumni, and employees at the Ottawa, Perth, and Pembroke campuses become an engaged global citizen as you give back in a variety of capacities and join us for the experience of a lifetime!

2019 – 2020 Global Projects

In 2020, our volunteers are heading to Guatemala, the Dominican Republic, and Kenya. Get the details on each Global Project below!

Guatemala

Dates: February 22 – March 1, 2020 (9 days including travel)
Country: Guatemala
Region: Todos Santos
Community partner: Light Up the World
Their vision: Powering opportunity
Service program: Solar power system installation
Social issues explored: Renewable energy, sustainability, and economic development
Cultural activities may include: Solar power workshop, hike in Guatemalan highlands, city tour of Antigua
Cost: Approximately $3,600 CDN (this includes flight, insurance, meals, transportation, activities, and accommodations)

Kenya

Dates: June 19 – 28, 2020 (10 days including travel)
Country: Kenya
Region: Maasai or Kipsigis Community
Community partner: ME to WE
Their vision: To empower people to transform local and global communities by shifting from “me” thinking to “we” acting
Service program: Community build
Social issues explored: Women’s rights, food security, education, healthcare, and access to clean water
Cultural activities may include: Village water walk, beading with Maasai Mamas, safari with a Maasai Warrior Guide, WE Village school visit, Maasai warrior weapons training
Cost: Approximately $4,000 CDN (this includes flight, insurance, meals, transportation, travel visa, travel vaccines, activities, and accommodations)
