On Monday, July 6th, participants from the Ottawa area will embark on the journey up Kilimanjaro. You can learn more about the climbers in the Meet the Teams section of the website, and follow their blogs as they climb Africa’s tallest mountain. Check back for more pictures, videos and stories from this amazing adventure.

Located just three degrees south of the equator in Kilimanjaro National Park, Tanzania, Mount Kilimanjaro is the highest mountain in the continent of Africa. With an elevation of 5,895 m and a diameter of about 40 miles, it is the world’s tallest free-standing mountain. Kilimanjaro is comprised of three cones, known as Kibo, Mawenzi and Shira. Both Kibo and Mawenzi have permanent snow and ice caps. Kilimanjaro’s highest peak is the Uhuru Peak.
