CE COURSES:
Retirees can take courses on the same basis as full-time employees. If it is a credit course, retirees can register as usual and pay a fee of $20.00, plus any course material fee. If it is a CE/non-credit course, the fee is the same but they can't register until the day before the course begins. The Registrar's Office does have appropriate access to the Human Resources Information System, however, HR can provide a letter to the retiree indicating that he or she is eligible to take courses.

Is there any specific spot on the Human Resources website that provides retiree information?
This is something that the pension and benefits area has recently suggested, however, it's still in the "conceptual" stage. We would most likely be looking at putting together a retiree guide (for current employees who are looking for information on retirement) as well as helpful links to Canada Pension Plan, Old Age Security, etc. |
