Dr. James Robblee began his career in the Department of Anaesthesiology at the Ottawa Hospital in 1975. Since 1996, Dr. Robblee has held the position of Chief of the Division of Cardiac Anaesthesiology at the University of Ottawa Heart Institute.  He has been a member of the Administrative and Executive Committees of the University of Ottawa Heart Institute since 1984, and has chaired the Financial Resource Committee of the Institute since 1988. 

Dr. Robblee served as a member of the National Blood Services Committee which was advisory to the Canadian Red Cross Society from 1989 to 1994. He was also a member of the scientific advisory board of the Canadian Blood Agency from 1990 to 1998. He currently chairs the Physician Advisory Committee of the Canadian Council on Health Services Accreditation (the agency that develops standards and undertakes compliance surveys for health care facilities in Canada and 17 countries internationally).  Dr. Robblee has received two awards for research papers, has published a number of reference articles in medical journals, and has also presented numerous lectures at the local, national and international level. 

Dr. Robblee was appointed to the Board in November of 2004 and will serve his third term as a member of the Audit Committee of the Board in 2007-08.
