4. Need money?

  • View job postings on the Student Employment Services Board (C-226).
  • For on-campus jobs, visit the Students' Association, Room C-151, or call 727-4723 ext. 7711 for details.
  • You can visit the Financial Aid office in C-225, call 727-4723 ext. 7678, or see the coordinator of your program.

6. How do I stay in shape?

  • Algonquin College has a fitness centre (Fitness Zone) offering free weights, cardio equipment, etc... It's inexpensive to join and for a small additional fee you can access the Olympic size pools at 9 Ottawa community centres.
  • Join a sports team: Algonquin has 4 varsity teams: soccer, volleyball, basketball and curling, and offers many intramural sports in which you can participate. 8. How do I get to Algonquin College - Woodroffe Campus?

With a major transit station directly across the street, travel to and from the college is easy. A Rides Board, located across the hall from the Students' Association for carpooling.

OC Transpo Photo ID's are available during the Campus Orientation week in the gym. During the semester, bus tickets and monthly passes are available at the Bookstore.

The Students' Association looks after Campus Activities, Club Funding, Courtesy Phones, Emergency Hot Line, Free Faxing, Free Transparencies, Graduate Services, Health Plan, Housing Referral Service, Lounges, Study Rooms, Tax Service, Thunder Alley, Used Book Referrals.


10. Where do I get information on courses and fees?

All program and fee-related questions can be answered by the Registrar's Office.

11. Where do I find information regarding housing?

Housing Referral is a service provided by the Students' Association. It allows you to view accommodations available in the Ottawa area.

Campus Residence is on campus. The Residence is an air-conditioned building which features 1050 beds! There are common lounges/games room available to all Residents, complete with video games, pool table and large screen T.V as well as study lounges for individual or group study sessions. 12. Where do I find information on how to Register, Parking, Lockers, Transfers, Transcripts, Exemptions and course changes?

14. How do I purchase used books?

Used books can be purchased through the Used Book Services Board located across the hall from the Students' Association in C block or at the Bookstore.

15. How do I seek help with my studies or get support?

Student Services (C-226) offers peer tutoring for just $4.00/hour. They give workshops on study skills, writing skills and provide academic and personal counselling. The Beacon (B-186) offers peer support, writing skills and general information.

16. Where do I go from here....graduation....employment?

The Graduate Referral Service, the Employment Opportunities Board, Career Fairs, as well as part-time and summer employment are some of the services that Student Employment Services offers.
