Successful completion of Accessible Taxicab Training is mandatory for a taxi driver's licence and employment in the taxi industry. The Accessible Taxicab Training course encompasses skills necessary to operate an accessible taxicab. This course has been designed to develop the knowledge, skills and attitudes necessary to meet the diverse needs of passengers with disabilities and provide professional service to all special needs clients. (Note: This course is a requirement for all new taxi drivers. It is also offered as a stand alone course for currently licensed Ottawa taxi drivers wishing to operate an accessible taxi or acquire an accessible taxi plate).
Applicants must pass the mandatory Accessible Taxicab Training Admissions Assessment. Testing is available during the day and evenings. Candidates must present themselves 30 minutes prior to testing. The testing fee is $50 (subject to change) and is payable at the Test Centre. For further information on testing dates, please contact the Test Centre.
REMEMBER to bring TWO (current and identical) Passport type pictures and a full Class G photo driver’s licence.

Upon successful completion of the Accessible Taxicab Training Admissions Assessment, please be prepared to register at the Registrar’s Office. Full payment is required to complete your registration.
