Advanced Skills and Techniques for Nursing Foot Care
This course is part of the following part-time on campus and/or online program(s):
Students develop in a classroom setting advanced skills required to treat and care for the common pathologies of the feet. Students learn to select and use padding and strapping, ways to alleviate the pain and retrain an involuted nail, techniques and knowledge needed to use the scalpel within the scope of the foot care nurse, when and how to use a rotary tool and Swedish massage techniques. Opportunities to utilize newly acquired knowledge and skills are provided in the lab setting. Newly acquired knowledge and skills are utilized in a retirement home setting.
Must be a Registered Nurse or Registered Practical Nurse.
This is a hybrid course (a combination of on campus and online).
