Anesthesia in the Perioperative Setting

Students learn the role of the perioperative nurse in assisting with the provision of anesthetic care throughout the perioperative period. Anesthetic agents, medications, monitoring, intubation and types of anesthetic interventions and complications are reviewed. Initial post-operative patient assessment protocols are emphasized in relation to in-patients and day surgery patients.
