In today's workplace human resources professionals are making important decisions impacted by Canadian legislation that is employer and employee focused. Students explore the fundamentals of Canadian legislation which relate to the workplace including a strong focus on working in Ontario. This legislation includes Employment Standards, Human Rights, Occupational Health and Safety, Pay Equity and Worker's Compensation. Students examine landmark cases and current legal issues which are undergoing interpretation by Canadian lawmakers. The legal framework is applied in developing policies and practices that impact organizations within the Canadian legal context.
