Fire Inspection I

Routine fire inspections help ensure that critical building infrastructure, equipment and emergency procedures meet established standards. Students learn to conduct fire inspections for compliance with the National Fire Code. Topics include fire safety requirements in and around buildings, the calculation of occupant load and establishing a fire safety plan. Requirements for inspecting, testing, maintaining, and operation of fire extinguishers, water-based fire protection systems, fire alarm systems, emergency electrical power supply systems and emergency lighting are discussed.
