Foundations of Perinatal Nursing

Course: NSG0111

Perinatal nursing encompasses care from pre-conception to three months after birth. Students explore foundational concepts pertaining to the practice of obstetrical, maternal-newborn, neonatal nursing and family-centered care. From ethical, social and cultural perspectives, students examine current perinatal issues within the Canadian health care system. Topics include the health care delivery system, childbirth/perinatal practices, family structure and support systems.

This is a hybrid course with three theory classes on campus on Wednesday January 22, March 4, April 15 from 5pm to 7pm.-
