Group Dynamics

Course: PSY1779

Being able to work within a group effectively is an essential interpersonal skill required in the helping professions. Students develop group interaction skills, which allow them to operate more effectively in groups and to communicate more clearly. The focus is on group functioning, leadership, the factors involved in group cohesion and group conflict, communication systems, emotional styles and group role function. Experiential learning processes are incorporated where students learn about group processes by actively participating in group exercises in class.
