Healthcare in Canada and Basic Medical Terminology

Learning how the Canadian healthcare system works is vital for students to understand their future professional role within it. Students explore the broad context of Canadian healthcare as well as the specific features relevant to their intended program of study. They examine the concept of health and wellness as a spectrum, acquire introductory medical terminology and develop the ability to use it correctly in the context of their professional practice. Through quizzes, role-play and small group presentations, students focus on the fundamentals and everyday realities of Canadian healthcare.
