Maternal-Newborn Nursing
Course: NSG0115
Assessment and care of the childbearing person, newborn and family is essential in the post-partum period up to three months after birth. Focus is on maternal-newborn assessment and care after birth including common childbearing person and newborn complications, childbearing person and family education, discharge planning and transition to community. Using lecture, group discussion and simulation-based learning activities, students gain necessary skills and knowledge needed when preparing for practice in this area of perinatal nursing.
