A solid foundation in mathematics is necessary to succeed in apprenticeship training. Through skills-based problem solving, individual study and frequent feedback on progress, students learn to solve problems related to their trade which may include the following: fractions, decimals, percent, ratio and proportion, the metric system, measurement, order of operations, use number sense, manipulating linear and non-linear relations, exponents, polynomials and trigonometry of right triangles.
