Oracle Database 11g: Administration Workshop II
This course is part of the following part-time on campus and/or online program(s):
Students focus on a critically important aspect of the database administrator's role: backup and recovery. Students learn the concepts and architecture that support backup and recovery and practise the steps to carry it out in a variety of ways for different situations. This includes defining and testing backup and recovery scenarios. Students also learn how to manage memory effectively and how to carry out some performance evaluation and tuning tasks, including the use of advisors. Flashback technologies, scheduling jobs inside and outside of the database and controlling system resource usage are also covered.
Textbooks are included in the tuition price and will be sent to students before the first class.
Applicants must have post secondary education or equivalent work experience and fundamental skills to navigate comfortably through a computing environment. Students will be expected to use command line interface in this program.
