Perioperative Lab Skills - Part II

More complex skills and techniques learned in all theory courses are demonstrated and practised during this lab experience. Students have hands-on experiences using operating room equipment and surgical instruments in the simulated lab environment. Students practise intraoperative patient care through implementing the circulating nursing role that includes performing surgical skin preps, positioning, draping, assisting the anaesthesiologist and managing perioperative environment and workflow. Full simulations encourage teamwork and communication.
