Social Media Privacy and Security

Course: COM1011

This course is part of the following part-time on campus and/or online program(s):

Privacy and security of information are major concerns for individuals and organizations alike. Learners explore the importance of evaluating what and how personal and corporate information is stored and what information can readily be found online. By examining the associated Canadian legislation, learners are able to protect intellectual property, adhere to copyright laws, as well as advise others on confidentiality laws and keeping information secure. Learners analyze case studies and research topics to gain a thorough understanding of accessibility of information, and to make recommendations on privacy and security protocols.
