Teachers of English as a Foreign/Second Language Intensive

Course: TSL5001

This intensive TEF/SL course is for the international in-service teachers pursuing TEF/SL Certification. The course provides an overview of different approaches to teaching a second/foreign language and teaching methods compatible with each of the approaches and an overview of the theories of second language learning/acquisition. The course also focuses on the teaching of four language skills, such as listening, speaking, reading and writing. Such topics as teaching grammar and authentic language assessment are also included. During the course, students evaluate and develop teaching materials, create lesson plans, create, and teach mini lessons and participate in practicum. Note: Entry requirement is a university degree and teaching experience in EFL.
