This course addresses Canadian government and politics within a global context, and discusses the impact of political culture and socialization on understandings of the nature of politics, examines the changing role of the nation-state in the context of regional integration and globalization, assesses the nature and accountability of government processes and institutions, and considers the effectiveness of institutions linking state and society. The course also examines the influence of changes within Canadian society and within the international system on the organization and operation of the Canadian military.
