Students acquire theoretical and practical training in machine joinery and assembly procedures used to construct furniture pieces with doors, drawers, carcase framing and plinths. Hand-tool techniques used in the fitting and installation of components are demonstrated and practised. A theory lesson precedes the practical component. Students complete an individual project using solid and veneered surfaced materials.
