Youth Justice II- Applied

This course is part of the following part-time on campus and/or online program(s):

Students learn the clinical and therapeutic aspects of dealing with youth who are at risk or who are in conflict with the law (age 12 to 17 inclusive). The principles of Milieu Therapy and Cognitive-Behavioural Approaches are examined. Students learn skills and techniques in the areas of assessment, program planning, behaviour management, constructive discipline, and life-space counselling with youth. Emphasis is on enabling students to work effectively with young persons in residential, custody and community settings.
