TARGET AUDIENCE

Part-Time faculty who are brand new to teaching at Algonquin College, or haven't taught at the College in the past 2 years.


PLEASE NOTE: The next round of orientation courses will take place in April/May for the spring semester start.  Please check back in late March for the schedule and to register.

Hiring Procedures

The Part-Time Faculty Orientation program includes completion of 5 Core Modules:

  1. Creating Positive Learning Environments (3 hours)
  2. Teaching is More Than Talking (3 hours)
  3. Getting Started With Blackboard (3 hours)
  4. The Nuts and Bolts of Evaluation (3 hours)
  5. Finding Your Way Around Algonquin College (3 hours)

Participants will be paid for up to 15 hours of orientation activities.

During each module, part-time teachers will complete a time sheet. These time sheets will be authorized and returned to the appropriate department for payroll processing.

REGISTRATION

New Part-Time teachers need to register online for each of the five modules with an email address.
