If you are currently an adult educator wanting to augment your teaching skills or considering further professional credentials as an adult educator, then you may want to consider the Teaching Adult Lifelong Learners (TALL) certificate program.
Designed with the needs of busy part-time college teachers in mind, the program is delivered in a hybrid format using a combination of workshops and online learning experiences.
The program consists of six required courses (including a 30-hour practicum) and two elective courses.
In this program you will examine the special characteristics of adult learners and develop specific techniques and strategies to manage the learning environment. You will study effective methods for facilitating and assessing learning; and then, you will have an opportunity to practice your new skills in a teaching setting and receive feedback on your performance. Finally, you will learn where and how to access resources to help when you are planning and delivering learning experiences for your students.
The complete program requires 174 normative hours of course work. Normative hours are the number of hours usually needed to complete the learning requirements of a course. Normative hours may vary from the actual hours of instruction.
