As an employer, it is in your best interests to pay students the going market rate.   It is a valuable life lesson for students to learn to negotiate their salary.  Please contact coop@algonquincollege.com to discuss salary ranges if you are not sure what an acceptable salary would be.  We can provide some guidance for you.

The Ontario government provides a Cooperative Education tax credit to businesses hiring students enrolled in a recognized Co-op Education program.  Please contact the Co-op Office to request an official letter confirming employment of a Co-op student.  Normally, tax credit letters are issues at the end of January, however we can accommodate special requests for early issue.
