Are you interested in attending Algonquin, but aren’t sure which program is right for you? Our team can help you review the many options available at Algonquin College and offer guidance on selecting the best option for you.

There are several ways we can support you:

Career Advising Meetup

Are you considering applying to Algonquin College? Do you have career-related questions and don’t know who to speak to for answers? Career counsellors are available to start the conversation with you! Join us for a 15-minute chat to discuss your needs and how we can help put you on the right path.

These sessions will be offered September 5 – December 14, 2023, and January 9 – May 23, 2024:

  • Tuesdays, from 10:30am – 11:30am
  • Wednesdays, from 3:30pm – 4:30pm
  • Thursdays, from 3:30pm – 4:30pm

Sign up if you:

  • Need help finding information about career directions for your field
  • Need help figuring out which program to take
  • Need help learning which courses are required for a program you want to take
  • Are a newcomer to Canada and want to discuss education and employment options

Prospective Student Advisor Info Session and Career Counselling

If you are interested in enrolling in an Algonquin College program, you can meet with a Prospective Student Advisor for a 30-minute information session. A Prospective Advisor can help you:

  • Review the hundreds of fantastic programs available at Algonquin College
  • Explore the many different options for completing your studies (full-time, part-time, or online)
  • Find the information you need to select the best options for you
  • Receive guidance regarding how to apply for and finance your education

An info session with the Advisor is free and confidential. Appointments are available daily and are easy to book. If you are interested in this service, contact the Welcome Centre at 613.727.4723 ext. 7200 or welcomecentre@algonquincollege.com.

One-on-one career counselling may be available to prospective students. The Prospective Student Advisor will assess your eligibility.

Self-Guided Program Choice and Career Planning Modules

Career planning can be both exciting and stressful. Whether you’re feeling overwhelmed by possibilities or discouraged that no program or career path feels quite right, these modules can help you focus on what you are looking for in a program or career.

Career Clarity Workshops

Career Clarity group workshops are available by request to help prospective students understand the basics of career planning and how to choose a program.
