STERILE SUPPLY PROCESSING

This program prepares a Sterile Supply Processing technician to function safely and competently in a Processing Department, as well as a surgical suite in acute care hospital settings. Participants learn how to decontaminate, disinfect, inspect, assemble, sterilize and store sterile supplies and reusable patient care equipment. This training is broad-based to ensure transferability of knowledge and skills to several other tertiary care settings.

Participants are provided with a supervised preceptored clinical placement which involves hands-on experience in a processing department.

To qualify for your certificate, the program must be completed within 3 years.
