FORENSIC ACCOUNTING AND FRAUD INVESTIGATIONS

This graduate certificate program is designed for students who have completed a recognized diploma or degree program and wish to acquire a specialization in the emerging field of forensic accounting and fraud investigations. The program provides students with the essential skills and knowledge in forensic accounting and investigation techniques equipping the student to work in an entry-level position in the field of forensic accounting and audit investigations within the public or private sector.

The program prepares the graduate to practise in areas such as fraud and economic loss quantification including: investigating and analyzing financial evidence, testifying as a witness, becoming involved in criminal investigations and uncovering financial evidence in employee or insurance fraud cases, and investigating in the rapidly evolving area of computer fraud.

Employment opportunities include positions such as forensic accounting/litigation consultant, tax auditor, gaming investigator, insurance investigator, and internal auditor.

Admission Requirements:  Students are required to provide proof of a university degree or three-year college diploma in a related business area, or equivalent.
