OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH CERTIFICATE PROGRAM
There is a growing
concern for the safety of people in their work environment and the related
hazard that may be found there. Prompted by governments and their agencies
labour and management have identified the need for greater experience,
knowledge and expertise in the field of occupational safety and health for
the protection of people in the workplace.
This program provides
students with solid training in the required practices of occupational
safety and health. In addition to providing the fundamentals, the program
includes a management component that gives students the know-how to
oversee workplace safety programs and offer solutions.
Participants who
successfully complete all areas of the program are awarded a certificate
in Occupational Safety and Health.
NOTE: Successfully completing all the courses in the program, and when applying for program certificate,
students must provide proof of a valid St. John Ambulance Standard First Aid Certificate and CPR Basic
Rescuer Training (Level A, B or C).
NOTE: Students in the Occupational Safety and Health Program who successfully complete MGT2396 Occupational Health and Safety will be given an equivalency for OHS4010 Health and Safety Program Management. Note that MGT2396 was formerly called HLT2300. Either course is equivalent to OHS4010 for the purposes of the Occupational Safety and Health Program.
