UNIX ADMINISTRATION

The UNIX administration program is designed to give the novice user a firm grounding in using the UNIX operating system. Coupled with an advanced course which gives a detailed view of the introductory topics, a person can evolve from a complete novice to a confident user. This program will give computer users a firm footing from which to build their UNIX career.

UNIX is a powerful, yet simple and elegant operating system environment noted for its flexibility and ability to adapt. As a result, UNIX can be found in an astonishing wide variety of organizations, both big and small. A favourite of high tech companies, UNIX has a proven track record of embracing new technologies. UNIX continues to evolve as it has since its creation more than 30 years ago. UNIX operates with and complements other environments very well. As a result, UNIX is often found in organizations with a mixture of other systems.

Knowledge of UNIX is often a mandatory requirement for many positions advertised in the local area. The ability to work in the UNIX environment is a valuable asset on anyone's resume.
