New Full-time (FT) Faculty

New full-time faculty participate in five primary orientation activities:

(1) New Employee College Orientation

(2) Departmental Orientation

(3) Teaching @ Algonquin
These sessions typically take place in August and December. They provide an introduction to the learning and teaching environment at Algonquin.

(4) Focus on Learning (FOL) (Parts I and II)
This program is organized by a committee of teachers from Eastern Region colleges. All new faculty from these colleges are sent invitational letters requiring them to confirm attendance. Part I takes place in August and Part II takes place in the spring of the following year.

Please Note: It is a condition of employment for new full-time faculty to participate in this program.

(5) Mentoring Program (Optional)
As part of the orientation process, faculty who are new to Algonquin College can be paired up with an experienced mentor.
