Performance Institute
The Performance Institute provides performance training (body language and voicing) and many other tips and tricks in a one-semester package, 3 hours per week, Tuesdays from 3:00 p.m. to 4:30p.m. and Fridays from 9:00 a.m. - 10:30 a.m. To find out more about the Performance Institute please visit the web site If you would like to be part of this dynamic professional development opportunity beginning in September 2008, talk to your manager about the possibility of participating.

TALL - Teachers of Adult Lifelong Learners Certificate Program
If you are currently an adult educator wanting to augment your teaching skills, then you may want to consider the Teaching Adult Lifelong  Learners (T.A.L.L.) certificate program.  The TALL Program is designed with the needs of busy College teachers  in mind. The program is delivered in a hybrid format using a  combination of workshops and online learning experiences.

Leadership Development Program
In this interactive professional development program, participants practice and apply the skills needed in order to achieve team effectiveness and success. The program is designed to encourage on-going application and reinforcement of learning and techniques between sessions. Please indicate your interest in participating in this program to your immediate Manager/Chair.

Inservice Teacher Training Program (ISTTP)
This program is designed for teachers in Ontario's community colleges that is offered in a distance delivery mode by St. Clair College.  This program is recognized in the faculty contract and will be of particular interest to teachers who do not have an honours degree and who want an alternative route to access higher levels on the salary scale.

"Employees who have 15 years or more of service and whose maximum step is currently below the maximum on the salary schedule and who enroll and participate in the program shall receive (once only) an immediate one step salary progression, to a maximum of the salary schedule, and shall maintain that Step upon maintaining satisfactory performance in the program".

Sign Up for Algonquin College Courses

All full-time employees and part-time faculty are eligible to take Algonquin College courses offered by the School of Part-time Studies. They can be done online or or in a classroom.

Enroll in an individual course or work towards a diploma or certificate program.

Online Courses
Online courses offered through Distance Education allow employees to learn at their own pace and at times that are convenient to them.

The cost to Algonquin employees is $20 plus a $50 information technology fee.

Classroom Courses
Courses offered in the classroom are traditionally held in the evening and on weekends.
