RENFREW COUNTY MASTER GARDENERS BURSARY
Presented to a Forestry Technician student entering his/her third semester who shows financial need.
RETIRE-AT-HOME BURSARY
Awarded to a student in the Personal Support Worker program during the 2nd semester with a minimum B average and displays financial need. Deadline: January 30, 2009.
RICHARD ALTMAN COOK MEMORIAL AWARD
For a student who completed final level English as a Second Language
studies, maintained a minimum 'B' average and been accepted into a post-
secondary program at Algonquin College.
Deadlines: September 29, 2008 and January 30, 2009.
ROGERS MEDIA BROADCASTING BURSARY
For a Broadcasting - Radio student recommended by the program
coordinator.
RUTH GRANT NURSING BURSARY
Awarded to a student in the BSCN program at Algonquin College in the Ottawa Valley. Upon completion of 2nd year. Minimum 'B' average and demonstrate financial need. Deadline: September 30, 2008.
SA INTERNATIONAL STUDENT BURSARY
For an international student registered in a full-time program with a financial
emergency.
SUSAN ROONEY MEMORIAL BURSARY
For a 2nd year Public Relations student for volunteer public relations work with a non-profit organization or a professional communication association. Deadline: May 9, 2009
SYD FORD MEMORIAL BURSARY
For a 1st year Social Service Worker student entering second year.
TAI LANG LIU and LINHAI TAIN EMERGENCY FUND
For an international student registered in a full-time program with a financial
emergency.
TALLYHO BURSARY
Awarded to a student registered in the Law Clerk program in the School of Business upon completion of the second semester who displays financial need. This student should also have good attendance, participate in class as well as good academic standing and have overcome challenges. Deadline: September 28, 2008.
THEATRE ARTS BURSARY
To be awarded to a student who has completed the first year of the Theatre Arts program in the School of Media and Design who shows financial need. Additional consideration given to female students.
THE ORDER OF ST. LAZARUS/IBM BURSARY
Awarded upon completion of the 1st semester in the Practical Nursing program Personal Support Worker, Development Service Worker and Social Service Worker program. Student must show interest in palliative care should be considered an asset for this bursary. Minimum 'B' average and demonstrate financial need. Deadline: November 30, 2008.
TOYOTA CANADA FOUNDATION BURSARY
Student(s) must be registered in the Motive Power program, demonstrate financial need and a minimum B + average, as well as have made a significant contribution to the Motive Power program through: demonstrating efforts in service to the community/college, leadership and teamwork qualities by assisting peers, motivating others, and setting an example of integrity and purpose, demonstrate strong technical skills as well as suggesting ideas that will improve program or college life. A minimum of two bursaries will be awarded at the beginning of each semester.
TYLER PAGE GENEROSITY of SPIRIT BURSARY AWARD
For two students in the Masonry - Heritage and Traditional program; two students in any Perth Campus Trades program; and two students registered in any additional Perth Campus program. Students must have a minimum 'B' average, have completed at least one term at the Algonquin College Heritage Institute and represent 'generosity of spirit'. Deadline: November 28, 2008.
VINCE BEVAN BURSARY
For a Police Foundations student upon completion of 2nd term who demonstrates high scholastic achievement with a minimum 'B' average. Deadline: March 31, 2009 .
W/C GUY GIBSON V.C. CHAPTER IODE BURSARY
For a Practical Nursing student entering 3rd term with a minimum 'B' average and some community or volunteer experience. Deadline March 31, 2009.
WESTEINDE CONSTRUCTION/GRIFFITHS RANKIN COOK ARCHITECTS
DESIGN - BUILD BURSARY
For a student with a minimum 'B' average upon completion of 4th term in Architectural Technology, or Civil Technology, Mechanical Technology, Electrical Engineering Technology. Deadline: September 17, 2008.
WEST END NURSERY SCHOOL AWARD
For 3 students with a minimum 'B' average and good attendance in the Early Childhood Education diploma or Early Childhood Education Intensive programs. Deadline: October 10, 2008.
WOMEN IN TECHNOLOGY MEMORIAL BURSARY
In memory of the women engineering students slain at Montreal's Ecole Polytechnique in December 1989. Students must be recommended by Financial Aid. Deadline: April 1, 2009.
ZENA and HARRY LEIKIN BURSARY
For three students in the School of Health and Community Studies who completed 2nd term and are returning to 3rd term with a minimum 'B' average, good attendance and community involvement. Deadline: April 11, 2009 .
