The Ontario Student Assistance Program (OSAP) is intended as a supplement toward the costs of your education while attending college.
IMPORTANT:
When you come to the Financial Aid Office to claim your OSAP loan documents you must:
1. be registered;
2. have paid your fees or had your fees deferred;
3. one piece of of valid photo I.D. issued in Canada by the federal, a provincial or territorial government. Examples of acceptable I.D. are: a valid driver's licence, passport, provincial health card with photo, permanent residency or citizenship card and your actual government-issued Social Insurance Number (S.I.N.) card plus a void cheque.
The National Student Loans Service Centre (the service provider) requires that you have a bank account in order to access your financial aid funds. Therefore, it is important that you open a bank account prior to picking up any loan documents from Financial Aid.
*You will need a VOID CHEQUE from your personal chequing/savings account when you take OSAP documents to a Canada Post Office to be processed. |

You must also be prepared to sign an official declaration confirming the accurate gross amount of your Summer earnings when starting in the Fall term (or for the16 weeks prior to your study period start date if starting in
the Winter/Spring terms). Students completing high school in June use
gross earnings for eight weeks of the July and August period prior to a Fall term start date.
National Student Loans Service Centre (NSLSC) - Woodroffe Campus
As an additional service to Algonquin College, representatives from the National Student Loans Service Centre will be on campus processing students' government loan documents for a period of time at the beginning of each term. The number of weeks each term that this service is provided may vary, i.e., demand in the Fall and Winter terms is greater, therefore, the number of weeks for the service is extended accordingly by the National Student Loans Service Centre. Please check with the Financial Aid Office at Woodroffe Campus to confirm the time period each term when NSLSC representatives will be on campus to process loan documents.

NOTICE: Service Queue
Students picking up OSAP loans during the first 4 weeks of school should be aware that Algonquin’s Financial Aid Office uses a number system to release financial aid funding. Numbers start being distributed at 8:00 a.m. During our busy period, it is not unusual for all available numbers to be given out by 10:00 a.m. However our staff at the Financial Aid Service Window are available throughout the operating hours to assist students with routine financial aid questions or to refer them to a Financial Aid Officer. |
