Each year, Algonquin’s Hospitality and Tourism students have a great deal of success with their applications to the many external scholarships and awards that are available throughout North America. Information on the wide variety of scholarships and awards ranging in amounts from $1000 to $3500 is found on the following sites:

COLLEGE AWARDS
Students are nominated by faculty to the Dean of the School of Hospitality and Tourism for the following awards based on the specific criteria for each award.
INTERNATIONAL STUDENT LEADERSHIP AWARD
Awarded to a graduating International Student with the highest GPA in the final semester who is in a full-time program and has a valid study permit.

CULINARY - CHEF TRAINING PROGRAMS
ACE BAKERY SCHOLARSHIP
This annual award will be given to the student who shows the most promise, dedication and academic excellence in their 1st year of study in the Culinary Management program. The Faculty will select the recipient based on a GPA of 3.0, also on practical skills, and a demonstrated dedication to culinary management.
CANADA CUTLERY AWARD
This award is presented to a graduating student in the Culinary Management program who has demonstrated strong leadership and culinary skills in the College and the industry.
CHARPENTIER-HALE TROPHY
This award is given to a 1st-year student returning to the 2nd year of the Culinary Management program who has demonstrated exceptional culinary skills.
HOSPITALITY MANAGEMENT - HOTEL and RESTAURANT PROGRAM
HENK HYMANS SCHOLARSHIP AWARD
Presented to a student returning to the 2nd year of the Hotel and Restaurant Management program who has attained a GPA of 3.0. This individual has demonstrated professional promise, an ability to communicate, relates well with others, has strong organizational skills and leadership ability.
OTTAWA GATINEAU HOTEL ASSOCIATION SCHOLARSHIP
Presented to a student who has successfully completed Level 2 of the Hotel and Restaurant program and has attained a GPA of 3.0. This individual is hotel-oriented and will possess excellent customer service skills.
TOURISM and TRAVEL PROGRAM
AMEX CANADA INC. AWARD
Presented to a first-year student in the Tourism and Travel program who has demonstrated strong technical skills in Computer Reservations and Airlines courses. The student must demonstrate a professional and resourceful attitude; have excellent interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to be a team player.
MARIA PROVENZANO AWARD
This award is given to a 1st-year student returning to Level 3 of the Tourism and Travel program who is conscientious, has maintained a minimum GPA of 2.0, is cooperative and helpful to others and who has fostered an atmosphere of participation in the program.
TRAVELPORT CANADA AWARD
An award to a graduating student in the program who has maintained the highest grade throughout all four levels of Computer Reservations.
