ENL1725 20th Century Canadian Literature
This course will introduce students to a wide range of 20th Century Canadian fiction, poetry and drama, with the dual aim of exploring the theme of the Canadian identify while enhancing students' cultural and self awareness. It will explore the importance of writers' perceptions of the world, and how those perceptions affect contemporary Canadian society. Through assigned readings, discussion, presentations and essay writing, students will investigate the role of the artist in defining and shaping society. This course will focus on how Canadians see themselves and the challenge of defining identify in a multicultural society.
