FAM1218 A Cultural Diversity Quest
Starting with a global perspective, this on-line course guides the learner through national, provincial, municipal and finally, personal glimpses of Canada's multiculturalism. Tasks in this 'cultural diversity quest' provide the student with an opportunity to: 1) learn about cultural groups currently immigrating to Canadian communities; 2) unlearn some of the things in life that lead to prejudice, racism, and discrimination; 3) examine his/her own ethnocentricity; and 4) interact with different cultures. In a rapidly shrinking world, intercultural relationships are becoming increasingly important. This introductory course is designed for those students who wish to further explore identities which may be outside of the mythical norm.
