Energy consumption at Algonquin impacts the costs of running the College and diverts funds from other infrastructural and capital needs. The College’s energy consumption also has wider impacts, such as contributing to global warming. Algonquin is committed to reducing its ecological footprint and energy conservation is the first step towards achieving this goal.
As energy users and stewards, Algonquin’s staff and faculty play a pivotal role in not only reducing the College’s ecological footprint, but also in acting as role models of good conservation behaviour to the College’s students.
The energy conservation tips on the following pages show you how easy it is to make the right choices to reduce energy use at the College and in your own homes.
