| Applying For Full-Time Positions |
Our research has shown that almost three quarters full-time permanent employees were previously employed on a part-time basis. All full-time positions with Algonquin must go through a posting process for a minimum of 5 days. All active postings can be viewed by visiting the Career Opportunities Page. We encourage you to visit this site often. Academic postings generally appear in April/May of each year, and some in November/December, and are posted on our internet site and often in the community newspapers. First consideration is given to internal candidates, which include current full-time faculty as well as currently active partial-load employees. Applications for positions may only be submitted via our website - paper copies will not be accepted unless stated as such on the posting. We strongly encourage anyone interested in becoming a full-time Professor or Instructor to read the attached document developed by Algonquin's Academic Council and the School of Business, entitled "The Professor of the 21st Century". Support Staff postings must go through an internal recruitment process before they can be posted to the outside community. Postings will only be accessible through our website. Part-time employees are welcome to apply, however current full-time employees will be given first consideration in the hiring process. Applications for positions may only be submitted via our website - paper copies will not be accepted unless stated as such on the posting. Job descriptions for these positions are available upon request. Administrative postings are open to all applicants. Applications must be submitted via our website as paper copies are no longer accepted (unless stated as such on the posting). If you have specific questions about preparing yourself for full-time employment with Algonquin College, please contact our Recruitment Officer, Nigel Parker. You may also want to consider talking to other full-time employees in your department, or your manager, to gain further information about their experience with the recruitment and selection process.
