| Academic Overtime |
When a faculty member's workload exceeds forty-four (44) hours per week, they are in an overtime situation. Probationary employees shall not be given overtime assignments under any circumstances, and all overtime agreements must be made on a voluntary basis. A faculty member who is in agreement with their overtime situation must sign their SWF as such. Overtime shall not exceed one (1) TCH per week and/or three (3) total workload hours per week. This means that a faculty member's workload will not exceed 19 TCH's if they are in a post-secondary program, or 21 if they are in a non-post-secondary program. It also means that no faculty member's workload will exceed forty-seven (47) hours per week, regardless of voluntary agreements. Payment of overtime is calculated in the following manner:
The 11th Month is also considered to be a type of overtime situation. This occurs when a teacher is assigned to teach for an additional month ("11th Month") over the normal teaching schedule. These faculty members shall be entitled to receive a vacation of one (1) month as scheduled by the College plus a bonus of 10% of the employee's base salary for the completion of the additional assignment. In the event that teacher does not work the full 11th month, their bonus will be pro-rated appropriately.
