New to the 2005-2008 Support Staff Collective Agreement, a "Special Allowance" of $400 is paid to qualifying employees on active payroll as of September 22, 2005.  This payment will be made within 30 days of this ratification date.

"Qualifying employee" means any full-time bargaining unit member with 10 years or more of continuous service as of September 1st of each year.  The same rules that are used to determine vacation entitlement are used to determine special allowance eligibility.

In the following years, this Special Allowance shall be paid on September 1st of each year.
