Scenarios for Leadership Topics
Applicants are required to choose ONE scenario only to base your presentation on.
- As the C.E.O of an emerging firm - one that is young, constantly evolving, pre- IPO, and in the Ottawa region - you have had strong initial success in your industry. A prestigious and high-profile industry symposium has invited you to deliver a presentation outlining the key factors determining how your emerging firm became a leader in your industry.
- The company you started is about to celebrate its 10th anniversary. You experienced strong success early on as a budding organization. With strong growth and an expanding workforce you thought nothing could stop you. However, in recent years, while numbers are still stable, some employees have been less than motivated. You feel it may have something to do with your leadership. Your task is now to have a meeting with all employees in an effort to re-establish the culture you want for your company and the leadership you can offer. Your presentation must detail your desired culture and what your expectations are and convince your employees of your leadership qualities.
- You are about to embark on your career. If you could picture yourself 40 years from now, what would you like to have accomplished? How do you want to be remembered as a business leader? What will be the most important aspects you will keep in mind throughout your career?
- There is a concern amongst the business leaders in National Capital Region that we are losing too many of our future leaders to other regions. How do you think that the NCR can develop, attract and retain the leaders to tomorrow?
