International Development Resources
Welcome to Algonquin College and the new web resources of the International Education Centre. Algonquin International Education Centre's (IEC) commitment to international development is reflected in over 20 years of successful project activities in Asia, Europe, India, the Middle East and South America. Algonquin maintains these educational partnerships far beyond project completion, ensuring continued success and sustainability. You will notice from reading through our web pages that our work in the IEC is quite varied. Our success in our work in international development, study abroad opportunities, international internships for graduates, teacher training for overseas clients, customized training and consulting services - comes from our team of dedicated IEC professionals, with a wide variety of backgrounds and skills.
I am very pleased to introduce you to our new web pages focused on international development and the activities of Algonquin's IEC. I encourage you to read through these web pages to discover more about what we do and how you may get involved.
Algonquin Enhances Educational Access through Collaborative Programs Abroad

Algonquin diploma programs are offered in India, South Africa, and Montenegro. Collaborative education programs with colleges and universities abroad are supported by faculty exchanges and teacher training.

International Development Week (IDW) 2011
February 6 - 12, 2011
This Year's Theme
IDW is celebrated each year during the first full week of February. It provides a unique opportunity for the Government of Canada and Canadian organizations and individuals to publicize progress achieved and lessons learned in international development.

UN Professional Placements (UNPP) Programme
About the Programme
Canadians increasingly want to 'make a difference' through direct participation in international humanitarian organizations, be it through volunteer work, exchange programmes or internships. However, gaining access to the international arena can be formidable for those lacking overseas living experience and relevant work experience.
